Amazon Kindle 2 to Possibly Launch February 9th

kindle-2Ever since being revealed in blurry camera shots last year, the successor to the surprisingly successful Amazon Kindle ebook reader (which is even Oprah-approved), has been the subject of many people’s wish lists and has made people wait to see if it will actually deliver on its improvements.

The aforementioned improvements include a more ergonomic, thinner shape, revised keyboard and display, a leather pouch instead of the plastic cover, and a joystick replacing the directional pad at the expense of the SD card slot for 1GB of internal memory.

Amazon will be holding an event at the Morgan Library in New York on that day, which leads many to believe it will finally launch the successor after being delayed last year for unknown reasons, missing the original holiday launch last year.
