Best Buy Expands Free Electronics Recycling to Every Store

Best Buy today formally launched free electronics recycling at every Best Buy store nationwide.

The program is rather unchanged from the pilot program which we covered previously. The program accepts all consumer electronics, with few exceptions. TVs over 32-inches are excluded, as well as any device containing freon (like an air conditioner or mini fridge). Appliances (microwaves, standard refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, washers and dryers, and ranges) are also excluded.

The only real modification from the pilot program, is that a $10 fee is charged on TVs, CRT Displays, monitors, and laptops. However, Best Buy offsets that by giving the customer a $10 Best Buy Gift Card. It is not known if the gift card will be a limited time promotion or not.
