Best Buy Giving Roxio Movie Rentals, Free Napster MP3s to VIP Customers

Best Buy today rolled out two additions to their Reward Zone Premier Silver program.

Reward Zone is Best Buy’s shopping rewards program. Customers earn one point per dollar spent, and receive a $5 certificate for every 250 points, giving effectively a half-percent reward back on all purchases. Premier Silver standing is obtained when you purchase $2,500 or more from Best Buy in a calendar year. The premium standing gives you 45 return periods, waiver of all restocking fees, and a $99 off $500 home theater purchase coupon annually.

Today’s additions to the Premier Silver benefits are both media related. The company is offering a $5 per-month credit for Roxio’s CinemaNow service, which equals approximately one movie rental each month on digital download. Also included is 15 Napster MP3 downloads, credited every 90 days, totaling 60 free songs per year.

Effectively, the new Premier Silver benefits total about $120 per year of fully utilized.
