Check out interesting unemployment statistics with Google

In today’s economy, it is very helpful to know where areas are mostly affected by the economy. If it’s not helpful, it is at least interesting to know what the trends are, and in years to come, what could potentially happen. For the past years, all this information has been pretty much scattered on the Internet. Luckily, Google decided to intervene and place all this information within their powerful search engine.

If you enter in a city, state, or county followed by unemployment rate or population, a Google result featuring a chart and a number will immediately become the first choice. If you would like to see the trends and compare this information among other places, then click through the link and you will be shown a larger graph with much more information. As I just mentioned, population also works, so it is not limited to just unemployment rate.

While it seems Google hasn’t accomplished a whole lot, it does potentially mean that Google can create graphs for even more and different statistics. As any student knows, writing a strong research paper requires good statistics. Let’s say you are writing a paper on the economy, well now you can utilize Google’s unemployment statistics to your advantage.

Look for Google to build upon what they have announced today. But for now, go statistic crazy on Google!
