Creative adds ZEN-MX to current ZEN lineup

Today, Creative added to their lineup of MP3 players by adding a basic, entry-level MP3 player, the ZEN-MX. While it doesn’t come with features that would blow you away, it comes with some nice, basic features at an affordable price.
The ZEN-MX will be available in two different models, one being an 8GB model, and the other a 16GB model. 8GB or 16GB should be enough memory for the casual music fan. In addition, it comes with a 2.5 inch LCD screen, with 320×240 resolution, and supports several formats including MP3, WMA, DRM, and Audible 4. Now, in terms of video, Creative decided it would only support their native format, CMV. However, they will include a software that can convert other video formats into CMV, called Creative Centrale.
With a 2.5 inch screen, it will be easy on the eyes to watch music videos, TV shows, or even movies. In terms of other features, it comes with an FM tuner, 30 hours of audio playback, 5 hours of video playback, SDHC memory expansion (in case 8GB or 16GB is not big enough) and voice recording. On May 5, the ZEN-MX will be exclusively available in Japan, and the 8GB will sell for $102, while the 16GB model will sell for $144. Unfortunately, no word on whether Creative will market the ZEN-MX in the United States.
