Download: Acer Aspire One Windows XP Restore Discs
The problem: Acer didn’t include a way to burn the Windows XP restore discs with the Aspire One. They also didn’t included the discs. Thus, to restore your OS if something goes wrong, Acer is violating the EULA by making you purchase restore discs.
The solution: We’re hosting the restore discs for you to download.
Keep in mind that these discs will only work on an Acer Aspire One that came with Windows XP pre-installed. They will not work if your Aspire One came with Linux… so please, don’t bother trying. And, we don’t like piracy, so we wouldn’t be hosting these discs if you could modify them to work with your ordinary PC, they only work with the Aspire One.
Acer Aspire One Recovery Disc 1 (129 MB, Zipped ISO)
Acer Aspire One Recovery Disc 2 (2.89 GB, Zipped ISO)

Thanks.
the disc 2 download dont work
Files over 2 GB often have trouble downloading on some connections. Try using a file download app that supports resuming.
I download both of the above discs and have burned them onto a dvd. I followed the instructions. for example, went into the bios and changed to boot from my external dvd drive. rebooted. External DVD lights up and disc spins but nothing changeson the Aspire, it goes to the XP load screen and hangs.
Any suggestions!
Thanks a lot guys, this has really saved me.
when i try to play this disc it just goes to nti media maker, i need to play the disc??
I downloaded the two iso files and burnt them to discs and it worked first time. Why pay Acer £70 when with a little patience you have it for free.
Many thanks for your help
perfect!! thank you very much
Works Thank U!
2nd link is not working?????????
I downloaded both disks and burned them using software to burn ISO images and the netbook won’t boot from them. When I put the disk in the external drive and select it from the boot menu, it sits there and blinks the cursor until it times out. You can hear the disk spin up, not fully, but at least reading the disk and then stops. Does this for both disks.
Jason, try burning the discs at the slowest speed possible. Some times, boot discs do not work well when burned at top speed.
Could some one tell me the process to burn these files to a disc. I have the zip files loaded on my network drive at work.
Thank you
I am not to swift when it comes to this stuff
