Eee PC 1000H Now Shipping in the USA!
Great news everyone, after a painfully long wait, ASUS is now shipping the Eee PC 1000H and 901 models in the United States.
Currently, Amazon.com is selling the Eee PC 901 with Windows XP. However, we don’t suggest buying this one, but rather, waiting for the Linux version. This is because the Eee PC 901 has a smaller SSD drive on the XP version.
Even better news, is that Mwave.com is shipping the Eee PC 1000H with Windows XP. This is the most powerful version of the Eee PC, with an 80 GB hard drive. That makes it the best version for Leopard; no having to hassle with complicated (and too small) SSD arrays. Oh, and did we mention that it’s currently selling for $140 less than the suggested retail price?
Have we confirmed these run Mac OS X? No, not really. However, these systems sport a GMA 950 and an Atom processor that exceeds 1 GHz (which appears to have been the root cause of why earlier Eee PC systems had timing issues with Tiger and Leopard).
