Google Squared Versus Wolfram Alpha

Following in the footsteps of the new search engine, Wolfram Alpha,  Google attempts to revamp their search engine and gear it towards a more user friendly and intelligent search. Google Squared takes your search and gathers up information from all over the internet and presents it in a table of organized data.

As the internet and the information on it grows, the ability for Google to match keywords almost to the exact order you type them in increases. Google feeds on this fact and its ability to match your query to an answer greatly expands.

This new wave of smart search engines seem to be the way of the future as peoples searches get more and more specific and complex. Instead of finding thousands upon thousands of possible hits and sources a user could go through, Google Squared hopes to provide a proper answer right on the page. It saves the user time, effort and frustration.

The success of Wolfram Alpha has had an impact on Google’s decision to make their search engine more efficient. If Google Squared takes effect soon, it will have a huge leg up on Wolfram Alpha simply based on the name recognition of Google alone. Wolfram Alpha might come to regret that they made their title so random. However, that’s not to say that a name made up of two animals and the first letter of the Greek alphabet isn’t original and fun to say.
