Macworld Expo 2010: New Era, Shaky Start

We’re live from Macworld Expo 2010, kicking off our all-HD coverage of the show. IDG World Expo, which runs Macworld Expo, calls the event this year a “new era”, representing the fact that Apple has bailed on the trade show for the first time.

Last night’s press reception was even more tepid than we expected, unfortunately. We knew Apple wasn’t going to be at the show, so we were already bracing for impact. Despite 250 companies exhibiting… only six showed up for the press reception. Ouch.
