Nearly Limitless File Transfer With FilesOverMiles

Anyone who enjoys the occasional pirated movie or TV show, but sometimes likes to avoid the use of shady sites or programs, could definitely use a new file sharing site called FilesOverMiles. As the name states, this site shares any kind of file over the internet/across miles.

However, instead of having to upload a file onto a site and waiting for it to upload and then telling the other party where to download it from, FilesOverMiles skips the middle step and has the other party directly download from you simply by providing a URL to use. Once you choose a file to send, the site gives a URL that you give to the other person. Once the URL is entered in a browser, the download starts immediately as does the upload.

This ensures privacy by not having to send the file to a server first where it is open to any disgruntled site employee to see. As a side note, both browsers have to remain open in order for the transfer to go through.

One of the best benefits of this site, is that there is nearly no file size limit. I say nearly because the transfer is based on Adobe Flash Player which utilizes a computers RAM to temporarily store files. This means that files are limited by the amount of RAM on both the sender and the receivers computer. Hopefully in the future this issue will be resolved and RAM will not be a limiting factor. Either way, as long as you and your friend have somewhat of a modern computer, file size could reach a gigabyte or over with little issues.
