Oppo Announces BDP-80 Multi-Format Blu-Ray Player for $289

British boutique manufacturer Oppo has announced the forthcoming release of one of its most inexpensive Blu-Ray players ever manufactured by the company in its short history.

The Oppo BDP-80 will retail for $289 when it’s released later this Spring and will feature Blu-ray, DVD, Super Audio CD and MKV video file playback as well as MP3 support.

The rest of the featureset consists of full Profile 2.0 support for Blu-Ray special features, 1GB of internal memory, DVD Audio playback, switchable analog/digital audio outputs, two USB 2.0 ports and support for the full complement of NTSC/PAL/Blu-Ray video scaling options common to Oppo players for the best picture possible on any size display.
