Retro Gen Is Cheaper, Better Sega Nomad

In what is sure to whip up long time Sega fanboys including a certain Sega evangelist, internet retailer VGC will be offering a new Sega Genesis/Mega Drive player that substantially improves on the old Nomad portable console.

The Retro Gen features compatibility with American Sega Genesis and Japanese/European/Brazilian Mega Drive carts as well as support for Firebox development carts to download new games. Another major feature is the addition of a built-in rechargeable Li-ion battery that charges via the built-in USB port and also supports TV output.

The console is available for pre-order at a special price of $49.99 and will begin shipping on July 25th.
