SanDisk has announced that it has begun shipping its latest memory card series utilizing its SDXC memory standard in the SanDisk Ultra series.
According to SanDisk, the XC memory standard allows for cards up to 2 TB of storage, a 15 MB/sec throughput rate and can store up to 9 hours of HD video with the largest capacity card. SanDisk’s SDXC cards are also based on the SD 3.0 specifications for the widest compatibility, and use the exFAT file system, with Canon stating that its future VIXIA camcorders and PowerShot camera series will be compatible with the newer XC cards.
