Western Digital Begins Shipping Scorpio Blue 1TB and Scorpio Blue 750GB 2.5-inch Hard Drives

Western Digital has announced in a press release that it has begun shipping the Scorpio Blue 750 GB and 1TB 2.5 inch hard drives for use in external enclosures to retailers.

The drives mark a first for the storage equipment manufacturer as it becomes the first to ship a 1TB and 750 GB hard drive, although the drives are built around the taller 12.5 mm height compared to the standard 9.5 mm height.

Western Digital will begin shipping the drives as part of the My Passport SE external hard drive series for $189.99 for the750GB version or $249.99 for the 1TB version.
